NIRLAB White Paper Olive Pomace Processing
This paper presents the application of portable NIR spectroscopy for rapid, non-destructive quantification of residual oil and moisture in olive pomace and dried olive pomace, measured directly at the processing site within seconds. The models are validated on industrial datasets of up to 1,084 samples, achieving performance levels of up to R² = 0.98, enabling real-time process control, pricing decisions, and drying optimization.
